Jackie currently resides in Huntington Beach, Ca with her husband David, 2 daughters, and 2 boxer pups. She is a Board-Certified Neurological Specialist in Physical Therapy, teaches in the DPT program at Azusa Pacific University, and is currently seeking her Ph.D. In Rehabilitation and Movement Science. Jackie & Kathy were teammates and roommates at Long Island University. “I will never forget Kathy’s Infectious laugh and all the selfless moments, putting her teammates above her own needs”. Jackie & Kathy had 3 years together at LIU, but their friendship remained long after their softball cleats were hung. “A pitcher and catcher’s bond is something that some may never understand, but something that is truly special. I was blessed to have that with Kathy.”

Alicia currently resides in Massapequa, NY with her wife Kim and 4 kids (2 boys, 2 girls), and 2 dogs. She has been teaching in the NYC Department of Education for 20 years. Alicia and Kathy were roommates, teammates (fellow catchers), and most importantly lifelong friends. They attended LIU together from 1999-2003. Over the years after graduation, Alicia and Kathy traveled together and met in different parts of the country. “I have so many fun and fond memories with Kathy. The one that will always stay with me is singing at the top of our lungs, “We Will Be Invincible” by Pat Benatar. That was our song!” Reciting the song lyrics to each other was one of the last memories Alicia had with Kathy before she passed.

Margie currently resides in Fort Collins, CO with her husband and 3 children (2 daughters, 1 son). After graduating from LIU, she spent 4 years coaching the blackbirds while getting a Master in Business Administration Degree. After her first-born child, she moved back to Nevada, where she returned to school for her Nursing Degree. Margie has now been serving as an RN for over 12 years. Margie entered LIU alongside with Kathy, and they instantly became friends and soon after roommates. They spent countless hours together on and off the field during their time at LIU and long after graduation. “Kathy always had a way to make moments feel less stressful on the ball field and off the field in our own lives. I loved her so much for that.”

Gianna married her high school sweetheart and they currently reside in New Jersey with their 2 sons.In 2002 she was awarded her Masters of Science Degree in Counseling Education. She then founded her own private counseling practice. As owner and director of Answers Thru Counseling, she continues to oversee several practitioners and counselors representing a variety of mental health specialities. Former teammate, Gianna will always remember Kathy not just as a dearly loved friend, but as an athlete she deeply respected and admired. As college athletes Kathy and Gianna traveled together, competed together, learned from each other, confided in each other, and laughed together. Gianna remembers Kathy as one of her favorite people during their time at LIU and into adulthood.
